Ever since I saw Underworld I wanted to design a gown inspired by Selene's character. I finally had the chance this fall. Cos T. Lindstrom asked me to be a part of a special project that featured Denver's Fashion Designers. The only requirement was that we had to wear something we designed. I was ecstatic! Not only was my birthday coming up but I wanted to design something that I had been dreaming about for awhile. I decided to go all out and treat myself. I wanted to continue to challenge myself by with working with vinyls and faux leathers. Making a couture piece from those fabrics is not easy! I ended up with this mood board as inspiration. I combined inspiration I found in the raw gemstones (black obsidian and azurite), faux leather gowns and corsets from my favorite movie costumes, and high fashion.
