I contacted Nicole Nichols this past spring to do a creative photo shoot. I was captured by her beautiful website and noticed she photographed traditional and alternative weddings. Her photography is beyond stunning and I thought her take would be perfect for the new line of bridal gowns I wanted to debut this fall. Knowing how busy wedding photographers can get, I honestly thought she would not have time to work with me. I was elated when I received an email that she was interested in meeting about working on a project together.
Nicole found a beautiful spot located in Berthoud, CO. Rancho Ricardo turned out to be a perfect back drop of mountains, sculptures, gardens, and horses. When we showed up to the venue after getting hair and makeup finished I was worried because the county kept the pavillion locked. With no where to change I started to get nervous. The caretaker of the property, Janice; however immediately heard our predicament and opened her mountain farm house to us. Janice's warm heart made the whole experience more memorable. Half way into the shoot she offered for us to use her 28 year old mare Tonada. The models were elated. This was a surprise and each took their turn being photographed with Tonada.
In the next entries I will discuss each look and design for each model.
