Mail Order Muslins & Fittings

How do you fit clients so far away?
In order to fit mail orderclients accurately the Secret boutique sends a mail order muslin also referred to as a "toile" for custom made bridal gowns, corsets, or evening gowns. Muslins are a copy of the corset a customer has ordered made out of cotton muslin. Muslins are sent to customers once their measurements have been taken and deposits have been placed. Muslins are sent with illustrated instructions. You will need a friend to help you with your fitting, a soft measuring tape (tailor's tape), a permanent marker, and a camera. Customers are responsible for taking pictures in their muslins and returning them to the Secret Boutique. You may take your pictures with a digital camera and send them to us via email for us to review. You may set up a phone appointment with us should you feel you require additional help with fitting your muslin. In rare cases a second muslin may be needed due to inaccurate measuring or weight fluctuation. Additional fees may apply if a second muslin is required.

Personal Muslin Fittings
For local customers:
Muslins can be fitted personally on local clients and will require an appointment with Jade or one of her assistants.

Muslins are not sent for skirts. Most of the skirts the Secret Boutique designs are alterable. Some skirts may come in a standard length when ordered and will need to be taken to a tailor to be hemmed. We allow for extra fabric in the side seams of every skirt should a customer's weight fluctuate. However, corsets can very rarely be altered so it is essential to measure accurately and follow our muslin instructions carefully when fitting your own mail order muslin.
